JOHN MICHAEL BAKER
MEMORIAL REEF
Your donations continue to fund the John Michael Baker Memorial Reef, launched in conjunction with Coastal Conservation Association Florida-Broward Chapter (CCA Broward). The first, deployment of this continuous artificial reef project consisted of both a fishing reef and separate diving reef off the coast of the north end of Fort Lauderdale Beach, and was completed in August 2018, with two additional deployments of the dive reef made in 2020. Both reefs are formally named John Michael Baker Memorial and appear as such on the charts on GPS systems.

The dive reef is dedicated to Johnny with a memorial plaque celebrating his passion for everything “ocean”. Proceeds from the John Michael Fishing Tournament will fund the project. Through sponsorships, donations and tournament participation. Johnny’s memory will live on through ocean conservation and the continuing support of student education through scholarships. Stay tuned for next Reef Project!
