The John Michael Baker Fishing Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the I.T Parker Center at Harbour Towne Marina, Dania  Beach, Florida. Lines in at 7:00 am and weigh in from 1:00 pm to 3 pm, followed by the awards ceramony. This is a family event with a silent auction, cookout, entertainment and a cash bar from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

The John Michael Baker Memorial Reefs through Coastal Conservation Association Florida

This year the foundation in addition to scholarship funds, has teamed up with the Coastal Conservation Association Florida-Broward Chapter (CCA Broward) to launch the John Michael Baker Memorial Reef. The artificial reef project will be 2 reefs and start at the north end of Fort Lauderdale Beach. The deployment of the reef will be in the late summer of 2018.

The reef constructed off the coast of Fort Lauderdale will be dedicated to Johnny with a memorial plaque celebrating his passion for everything “ocean”. Proceeds from the John Michael Fishing Tournament will fund the project. Through sponsorships, donations and tournament participation Johnny’s memory will live on through ocean conservation and the continuing support of student education through scholarships.
